"Ever since I became fulltime my schedule has been crazy, still trying to adjust. I go to bed at 6am and wake at 2pm. Rosario's Pizza on Orchard is where I east at, 93 Allen Stree is where I Robot at, 908 E. 9th is where I Skullfuck at, 168 Delancey Street is where I cash checks at, 3314 Mt. Pleasant Street is where my heart 's at."

These are the words of a hustlin' DJ. A DJ on the grind in New York City. A DJ who recently ditched his crummy office job to bless the world with fresh parties, loud humor, and dope music full-time. DJ Moe Choi.

Despite his new, wild schedule - a mandate of the treacherous DJ biz - Moe Choi is no new jack to the game.

Moe, or Choimatic as he's sometimes known, has been throwing down at NYC clubs and producing eclectic yet cohesive mixes since 1999. His mix Mr. Underground Classic caught the attention of URB Magazine in 2003, garnering a spot as one of the top 10 mixtapes of the year. Soon after follwed a collaboration with the slick MC Ladybug Mecca (Digable Planets) on his next mix Unfolding the Serious Mystery.

One of the most distinctive qualities of Moe Choi in the muscial megalopolis that is New York City is the resilience of his parties. Sweat NYC is Moe's monthly club night started back in 2003, and three venues later (The Frying Pan, 6's and 8's, & now The Delancy), it still draws fun-loving, booty shakin' crowd from the 5 boroughs and beyond . Guest DJs Pete Rock, Mark Ronson, Rob Swift, Large Professor, Cosmo Baker, & El Dopa have all dropped in to rock a set for Sweat. There you can also catch a set by Robots in a Coma, Moe's co-op with fellow DJ Chasekillz.

Choimatic's unique style blends the best elements of hip-hop, 88 tech, soul classics, glitch-hop, and "old Mo' Wax and Ninja Tune shit meets Sade and M.O.P." While many DJs mash-up genres with meaningless mixes, forcing song selections for all the wrong reasons, Moe brings a certain relevance and authenticity to all his sets. There's an underlying theme that keeps things cohesive and keeps the crowd connected to the man behind the booth. And that's why they keep coming back for more.
